What these technologies are
Cookies are small data files stored by a browser. Websites can also use local storage, pixels, tags, scripts and comparable technologies to remember information or communicate with a service. In this policy, “cookies” is used as a convenient collective term unless a distinction matters.
How we use them
Ocean Manor and service providers may use these technologies to:
- deliver requested website functions and remember a language or privacy preference;
- protect the site, manage traffic, identify technical problems and prevent abuse;
- understand visits, interactions, referrals and the journey to the booking service;
- measure advertising and campaign performance or support targeted advertising where permitted; and
- provide chat or other communication tools when enabled.
A technology may serve more than one purpose. We classify it according to its actual configured purposes, not only the provider's general description.
Categories
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential and security | Site delivery, security, traffic management, fraud prevention and functions requested by the visitor. | Generally active because the requested service cannot operate appropriately without them. |
| Preferences | Remember choices such as language and privacy settings. | Some are necessary to remember a choice; others may be adjustable when a preference center is available. |
| Analytics and performance | Measure visits, interactions, technical performance and booking-journey outcomes to understand and improve the site. | May require consent or offer an objection or opt-out depending on purpose, configuration, location and applicable law. |
| Advertising | Measure campaigns, attribute conversions, control delivery or support interest-based advertising. | Subject to available consent or opt-out controls and applicable law. |
| Communications | Support chat, interactive maps, 3D tours and related visitor-requested features. | Held until the functionality category is enabled in Cookie Settings. |
Known website technologies
The table describes known names and provider families. A provider may add, retire or vary a name by browser, domain, consent state or configuration. “Persistent” means it may remain after the browser session; it does not state a fixed expiration period.
| Name or family | Provider / category | Purpose | Duration description |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Ocean Manor / preference | Remembers the selected website language in a cookie and, where supported, browser storage. | Up to 1 year; replaced when the language changes and removed when the preference is cleared or browser storage is deleted. |
| om_journey | Ocean Manor / analytics | Created after analytics consent to connect a booking click with the site journey. It is included in the site's analytics event and same-origin handoff beacon; when booking-link passthrough is enabled, it is also added to the HotelREZ URL together with the originating route and public release identifier. | Up to 90 days, unless removed sooner through Cookie Settings or browser controls. |
| _ga, _ga_*, and, while the current agency container retains its legacy tags, _ga2 and _gaInt | Google / analytics | Distinguishes users and preserves session state for Google Analytics after the analytics category is enabled. | Up to 2 years by default, subject to the Google Analytics property settings and browser limits. |
| Advertising storage activated through Google Tag Manager, including _gcl_* when present | Google / advertising | Campaign and conversion measurement only when the advertising category is enabled and the active Tag Manager configuration uses the relevant service. | Duration depends on the advertising tag actually configured and activated. |
| Google Tag Manager | Google / tag delivery | Loads and coordinates configured tags. The container itself is a delivery mechanism; tags it activates may use the Google storage described above. | Depends on each activated tag rather than a single Tag Manager cookie. |
| tawk_uuid_*, twk_idm_key, twk_token_*, TawkConnectionTime and related local or session storage | Tawk.to / communications | Recognizes returning chat visitors and supports chat connection and continuity after chat functionality is enabled. | Tawk.to documents a six-month UUID cookie, session cookies and local or session storage; exact names and storage duration may vary. |
| Google Maps storage and requests | Google / functionality | Loads an interactive location map only after the functionality category is enabled. | Names and timing can vary with Google, browser and account state. |
| Matterport storage and requests | Matterport / functionality | Loads Matterport's external 3D Showcase after functionality is enabled. Matterport states that its service may use essential, performance, functionality and targeting technologies and process IP, device and interaction data. | Names and timing can vary with Matterport and browser state. |
| __cf_bm, challenge values and related security storage when present | Cloudflare / essential and security | Traffic delivery, bot management, abuse prevention, security and service reliability. | __cf_bm expires after 30 minutes of continuous inactivity according to Cloudflare; challenge and session values vary by the enabled security feature. |
| om_cookie_consent | Ocean Manor / essential preference | Remembers whether and how you responded to available cookie controls so the site can respect the choice. | Up to 180 days; replaced when a new choice is saved or removed through browser controls. |
Manage your settings
Turning a category off prevents the site from loading that category on the next page load and removes known cookies and namespaced browser storage that the site can address. A third party may retain data or other storage already created; clear browser site data and contact the relevant provider or submit a privacy request if needed.
You can also remove or block storage through browser settings. Blocking essential storage may cause language, security, booking handoff or other requested functions to work differently. Browser controls are specific to that browser and device.
Consent and regional choices
On oceanmanor.com, optional analytics, advertising, chat, maps and 3D-tour technologies remain disabled until you enable the corresponding category. This global opt-in design also supports jurisdictions that require prior consent. Where a separate opt-out right applies, you may direct us not to use covered information for sale, sharing or targeted advertising as defined by that law.
Cookie settings and a state-law privacy request are related but not identical. A cookie panel generally controls this browser's technologies; a broader request may concern other online or offline information. Use Your Privacy Choices for both paths.
Browser privacy signals
This site checks the browser's Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where applicable law requires it, a detected GPC signal suppresses the advertising category and advertising Tag Manager activation for that browser. The legacy Do Not Track signal is not treated as a consent choice because it does not have one universally accepted legal or technical meaning. You may use the direct methods on Your Privacy Choices if you want to communicate a specific request.
HotelREZ and external domains
Selecting a booking link takes you to the HotelREZ domain. Cookies and similar technologies set there are controlled through that service's systems and notices, not by an Ocean Manor control limited to oceanmanor.com. Other external links, embedded services and social networks may likewise apply their own policies and account settings.
Audits and provider changes
This table reflects technologies identified in the application and reviewed provider materials on the date shown. Website technology, provider configuration and storage names can change, and an emergency security or operational update may occur before the table is revised. A scanner may not see technology that activates only after a particular choice, interaction, campaign, location or provider response.
Privacy information and contact
See the Privacy Policy for personal-information purposes, recipients, retention and rights. Questions about a technology or choice can be sent to [email protected] or raised by telephone at (954) 566-7500.
We may update this Cookie Policy as services or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
