ADA commitment and nondiscrimination
Ocean Manor Beach Resort is a hotel and place of public accommodation. Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act generally prohibits disability discrimination and requires full and equal enjoyment of covered goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages and accommodations, subject to the law’s scope, standards and defenses.
This statement provides information and request channels. It is not a certification that every webpage, feature, guest room, route or physical area conforms to every technical standard. Guests should confirm every accessibility feature material to their stay before booking.
Effective communication and auxiliary aids
Title III generally requires a public accommodation to furnish appropriate auxiliary aids and services when necessary for effective communication with people who have communication disabilities. The appropriate aid or service depends on the nature, length, complexity and context of the communication and the person’s usual method of communication.
Possible aids and services can include accessible electronic information, reading written information aloud, written notes, large print, captioning, relay communication or a qualified interpreter. A requested method is evaluated under applicable law, including whether another effective method is available and whether a particular aid would cause a fundamental alteration or undue burden.
A public accommodation may not impose a surcharge on a person with a disability for auxiliary aids, barrier removal, reasonable modifications or other measures required to provide nondiscriminatory treatment.
Reasonable modifications
A person may request a reasonable modification to a policy, practice or procedure when needed because of a disability. Use the contact channels on this page to describe the barrier and the requested change.
Applicable law may allow a request to be denied when a modification would fundamentally alter the nature of the goods or services or when a legitimate safety requirement, based on actual risk rather than speculation or stereotypes, applies. Separate standards govern undue burdens for auxiliary aids and services; an effective alternative may still be required when available.
Service animals and mobility devices
Under DOJ Title III rules, a qualifying service animal generally must be allowed in areas where members of the public are permitted, including when pets are restricted. Hotels may not limit service-animal users to pet-friendly rooms or charge a pet cleaning fee, although actual damage may be charged on the same basis as for other guests. When the need is not apparent, staff may ask only whether the animal is required because of a disability and what work or task it has been trained to perform; certification or details about the disability may not be required. Control, housebreaking, limited-exclusion and trained-miniature-horse rules remain subject to applicable law.
Under DOJ rules, wheelchairs and manually powered mobility aids generally must be allowed in areas open to pedestrian use. Other power-driven mobility devices must be assessed using the regulatory factors and legitimate safety requirements based on actual risks, not speculation or stereotypes.
Contact us before arrival if you would like to discuss a service animal, mobility device, route or storage question. No advance notice is required merely to arrive with a service animal or common mobility aid where access is required by law.
Reservations and accessible features
Subject to the scope and exceptions in 28 CFR 36.302(e), a public accommodation that owns, leases, leases to or operates a place of lodging generally must make accessible rooms reservable during the same hours and in the same manner as other rooms; describe accessible features in enough detail for an independent assessment; hold accessible inventory as required; block a requested accessible room from other reservation systems; and apply the rule’s guarantee requirements. This paragraph states the federal rule; it does not verify Ocean Manor’s present inventory or reservation implementation.
Before reserving, ask us about the current verified details that matter to you, such as an accessible route, room and bed arrangement, doorway or maneuvering space, bathing configuration, grab-bar arrangement, visual or audible notification feature, or another communication feature. This list describes the kinds of details a guest may ask about; it does not state that every listed feature is available.
If the HotelREZ booking service or an online room description is difficult to use or does not provide enough detail, call (954) 566-7500 or email [email protected] to request reservation assistance and current information about available features. Confirm every material feature, rate, inventory condition and reservation term in the active booking flow or written confirmation.
Digital accessibility objective
DOJ guidance explains that ADA requirements apply to goods, services and activities offered by public accommodations on the web. DOJ does not currently have a Title III regulation setting out detailed web technical standards; it identifies WCAG and Section 508 standards as helpful guidance. This statement does not certify WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance.
Automated checks, manual review, assistive-technology testing and user feedback can identify different types of barriers. Automated tools or overlays cannot by themselves establish accessibility, and a passing automated report does not prove full conformance. No claim of full conformance should be inferred from this statement.
Assistance and alternative formats
If you cannot access information or complete a website task, use the contact channels below to request the information, service, communication aid or an alternative format. Applicable law determines what effective alternative method or auxiliary aid must be provided in the circumstances.
For faster handling, identify the page, document, service or reservation step; the task you were trying to complete; the barrier encountered; and the format or assistance requested. Browser, device or assistive-technology details can help but are optional. Do not send payment-card information or sensitive identity documents by ordinary email.
Send an accessibility assistance or alternative-format request, or call (954) 566-7500. If a reservation deadline is approaching, calling may be the most direct way to request timely help.
Third-party services and content
Some functions or content may be supplied by third parties, including HotelREZ for reservations, Tawk for chat, map or media providers, and external social or destination links. Those services may have accessibility features and limitations that Ocean Manor does not fully control.
Report a barrier involving a third-party feature through the channels on this page and identify the provider and task. A third party’s involvement does not by itself eliminate any accessibility duties that apply to Ocean Manor, but the available remedy may depend on which party controls the feature.
Property access and emergency needs
Digital information does not replace a discussion of a guest's specific property-access needs. Physical features, room layouts, paths of travel and temporary conditions can differ. Contact the hotel before booking or arrival for verified current information about a feature, to request a reasonable modification, or to discuss effective communication.
For an immediate emergency, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service first, then notify hotel personnel when safe. Before or at arrival, ask hotel staff for current information about available disability-related communication or evacuation procedures without sending unnecessary medical details.
See Hotel Policies for general guest guidance, and rely on your reservation confirmation for booking-specific terms.
Feedback, response and escalation
To report a barrier, identify the page, physical area or service involved; describe the task and barrier; state the assistance requested; and include a safe way to respond. Response and remediation timing can depend on urgency, the issue, the technology involved and whether another party controls the service.
If an initial response does not address the concern, reply to that response or call the hotel with the prior request date or reference, the unresolved barrier and the assistance still needed. You may ask that the matter be reviewed by a manager; this page does not state a guaranteed response time.
Applicable law prohibits retaliation or unlawful discrimination for requesting accessibility assistance or raising an accessibility concern.
